At Yoli, we love hearing the stories of people who have taken control of their health and transformed their lives using the Better Body System. Today, we’re excited to spotlight one of our Members who has combined exercise and the BBS to transform her life: Michelle Valencia!
We reached out to Michelle, and she was kind enough to answer some questions for us. Here’s what she had to say!
What made you decide to get started with Yoli?
I decided to take a chance on Yoli because to be blunt, I was tired of being overweight and a slow runner. I started running in 2013 and became hooked. I injured myself in 2015 and gained a lot of weight. By 2016, I had recovered from my injury but had gained over 30 pounds. My running pace had increased from 9-10 minute miles to 15-16 minute miles. In running every second counts and to add minutes is just demotivating.
How are you using exercise and Yoli together?
I like to stay active and be outdoors. I use Yoli Passion as my pre-workout, Yoli Fun during my workout for my hydration, and Yoli YES as my recovery drink. I have a bit of a regimen on those days I know I’m executing an intense workout.
What’s your favorite Yoli product?
My favorite Yoli product is Yoli Passion. I love it. I’ve never been a coffee drinker but Yoli Passion is my coffee. It gives me energy. It picks me up after work so I have the will to go work out. Passion is my secret weapon.
What obstacles did you encounter on the BBS and how did you overcome them?
The obstacles I encountered on the BBS were gaining weight after meal days and the scale not representing the muscle I have gained. I recovered by adjusting my protein intake and getting my BMI measured.
What advice would you give to someone starting out on the BBS?
You can’t become the person you hope to be in your “After” picture if you keep the habits from your “Before” picture.
How has your life changed since you started your transformation?
My life has changed in various ways since I started my transformation. I feel more confident in my appearance and abilities. Not only have I lost weight, but I’m getting faster. I can sprint again. I look forward to running versus just getting through a run. My overall health has improved—specifically, my skin and how it looks. I feel I look more alive. I smile more. People have mentioned how happy I look these days.
Is there anything else you want Yoli Nation to know?
I want Yoli Nation to know that although I did not lose a crazy amount of weight like some people who used the Transformation Kit, I’m achieving my “Y.” I wanted to be a faster runner and I’m on that track (pun intended.) Figure out your why and have that be your focus, not the number on the scale.
